I would choose the Half Tester, and the Turner Suite would be the room I would want to stay in if I visited :-).
I know why too! Maybe your Turner family members will recognize you! π
Like the princess who could feel a pea under 200 mattresses and 200 feather toppers I take this selection of the bed I am going to sleep in very seriously. I am absolutely sure The Madison suite would suit both the princess and me! Virginia
I have to say, I can’t chose… I love both of them.
I’ve slept in a half tester — so the French Canopy!! π
Both are beautiful!!
I’m jealous! I haven’t had a chance to sleep in either… yet! π
I would choose the French Canopy because it’s just so difference. Well, plus I ‘m French!
I think that is why Brett and I knew when we saw it we wanted one!
The French Canopy!
Although both do look delightful.
I have to agree!
I think that one is going to be very popluar one!
To feel like Maria Antoinette the French Canopy would be the one
Just make sure you keep you head! π
I would like the second one – it appears to be bigger although they are probably both the same size!
They are the same size, but the French Canopy looks smaller because its more covered. Both are just beautiful.
the top one definitely for me, as the bottom looks more masculine
The French Canopy is so classy.
I’ve never slept in a canopy bed. Just give me a firm mattress!
We are still thinking about what mattresses to use. Canopy beds are fun to sleep in. You must try it.
Thanks, Michelle! I know people with four poster beds with no canopy, but yes, I’ll try one given the opportunity!
Fantastic – both! The only problem would be that I would not sleep – too much to appreciate!
Thank you! I think I would sleep like a baby in either!
The French canopy calls out the loudest to me. Maybe because I love French history so much? Who knows. I’d just love to be able to draw the curtains around
Can you image sleeping until noon in the French Canopy and not even know its light out? I can do that one!!
I would just have to go twice so I could sleep in both!
I’m with you! π
I think I like French Canopy Possible Bed Style for The Madison Suite the best. I would feel like royalty in that bedroom π
Yes it does give that impression when you walk into the room. I think Brett and I were just standing there with our mouths open when we saw them.
First one, definitely. It’s so pretty.
It is really beautiful. We are thinking about doing the room in a really nice deep blue.
That would look great with that bed. Post pics when you’ve finished decorating it π
I will choose “Half Tester possible Bed Style for The Turner Suite”, since it seems much spacious as well as comfortable for a single one! π π
Rahul
I have to tell you that both are the same size. The French Canopy just looks smaller because it is more covered. But the Half Tester is just as beautiful!
The Half Tester is more my style. Very cool. I’d love to know the age of the trunk at beds’ footing. Looks like something I own…
I have to say that it is very Victorian which was such a beautiful period in furniture. If I get back to the anitque store where that bed is and the trunk is still there, I will ask.
Hey thanks, cheers from Nova Scotia.
How funny! I was just telling Brett I wanted to visit Nova Scotia!
You should, but wait until it cools down…!
I would definitely choose the first one, but the second one looks great too (and maybe a little better for people with allergies).. now, I’m off to find the free weekend drawing π
I can’t decide. I would have to say both. But we more than likely won’t use the feathers on the French Canopy.
I like the half tester bed, both are beautiful but my personal preference is the Tester.
I love Tester beds, both full and half. So I would be happy with either.
Hmmm…. I think I’d go for the half tester…I love its stately lines. Will definitely be checking out the drawing!
Tester bed, both full and half are so beautiful.
I think the half-tester might be a less…intimidating choice. But more adventurous sleepers might get a kick out of the french canopy. I would love either one!
Adventurous sleepers? That was the weirdest thing I’ve said in a while…
Haha, I think it a cool way to look at it!
Neither actually but if I was really wiped out….I wouldn’t argue with either….probably the second one. Nice shots by the way.
Thank you! So would you be more carefully is a Victorian wood craved headboard bed?
The half tester. They’re both beautiful.
The Half Tester is really nice. When I found it, I called Brett and made him come over to see it.
Well, the Half Tester is more my style, but the French Canopy would be too much of a hoot to pass up!
I can’t decided either. I would have to try both.
I would be honored to sleep in either of them! They are both stunning!
Aw, that is so cool! We would be honored to have you come and stay!
I hope to make it happen one of these days!
Half Tester, please!
Just let me know when you are ready to book it π
I’m more of a half tester girl – but both are awesome!
I agree, I love the both!
The French Canopy has my vote! π
That one is getting quite a few. I think I would have to try both.
Our vote is for the Half Tester.
I believe that the Half Tester is running a tight race! It is a beautiful bed and we can’t wait to place it in the house!
I vote for the Half Tester.
I think the Half Tester is pulling ahead!
Thanks for visiting my blog. It’s quite a story you have about the kids and the bed and breakfast. Having stayed in a number of B&B’s in New England’s Berkshires, the owners have told me how much work it is to run a place. All the best to you folks.
You are so welcome! We look forward to seeing more of your blog! We are excited about opening and being able to meet wonderful people. We know its going to be hard work, but it will be a love that we will enjoy.
Half tester for sure. Both are beautiful.
I agree, I would be happy in either of them!
Both are too small for me. Beds from years ago were built for short people since the average height years ago was much less than it is now.
You would be surprise how long then are. Unless you are 6’4″ then we may have a small challenge.
I’m 6’4″! How did you know?…………lol
I saw those old beds up at The Getty Museum in Los Angeles. Waaaaaaaaaay too small for me.
Well, just for you, I will make sure I measure them to fit even you!
Russell Ray is Right! Original canopy beds are best fitted by museums; I suppose your beds are gussied-up ‘old’ style but modern mattresses. That’s what I’d do in your situation, anyway. Give me a nice, simple pillow-top California King (that poor state only does one thing right, these days…).
I don’t think we want a bed that looks like it belongs in a museum or feels like it. The beds we are going to pick will remind you that you are in the time period of the families that once lived here, but also remind you of the comfort of the modern day… promise!
half tester for me too!
I love that one too. Of course I think I love all of them π
I would choose the French canopy bed. Only because the second one reminds me of a bed I saw in a scary movie. Is that a silly reason or what?!
No its not silly! But the French canopy will make you feel like royalty!
It also could be really fitting and fun to offer a “Royal Treatment” package as an inspiration of these beds/the suite. You could include breakfast in bed, a massage, facial, etc in the package to make visitors really feel like royalty!
Thank you for all your visits …support! either because they are vintage tho anything French is fitting for the time
You are so welcome! I think I like both of them, but I do want to try the French canopy if we can find it.
Thanks for visiting and liking my post. These beds are very beautiful!
The top (bottom looks too dark and claustrophobic). Then again, it may be too small for my spouse. Hope to get there someday.
Thanks once again for liking some of my recent posts “A Little Teamwork”, “Happy Accident w/ HDR” and “Object Lighting-macro cicada”. Always greatly appreciated.
You are so welcome! You know the French canopy looks small but it really isn’t. That one is just over dressed which makes it look smaller. We hope that you will make it to the plantation some day!
I would choose the half tester just because it looks less confined. I read the comment that the French one isn’t small, just looks small, but it also looks a little claustrophobic. However, if i was visiting your gorgeous place and that was the only bed available, I would have no complaints!
I love the half tester too. I am getting a lot of the same comments on the French Canopy. We may have to rethink that bed before we purchase it.
Congratulations! Seems your hard work, perseverance, and tenacity has paid off. Good luck and fortunes follow in you B&B endeavor.
Leslie
Thank you! We hope to see you one day at the plantation!
The second one. Is Don Knotts going to be haunting the plantation? That would be awesome!
The Half Tester is beautiful! That one is for sure going to be there. But I am not sure about the French Canopy. I think it might be a bit too over the top for our Southern Plantation. Don Knotts? I don’t think he will be there. But if you like ghost and ghost hunting, wait until you hear what we have going on this weekend!
What a selection!
I know it is hard to pick isn’t it?
I’m definitely more simple in my taste. Half tester.:-D
I think that one has won hands down.
