We are almost there!
Progress is happening!
First an update on our progress. Tomorrow we are meeting with an attorney to review some things for our LLC, which we have now! (Yay!) But we also are expecting a draft of the contract! (It’s about time!) If everything looks good and we don’t have to make any changes, we could be on our way by the first of next week! And we could be revealing the plantation this weekend! (fingers crossed)
I don’t know about you, but I am dying to tell!
NEW Item for the Menu!
Tonight I made a Sweet Crepe with a sweet cream cheese filling with slices of bananas and topped with blueberry compote. I also added some fresh blueberries on top of the compote to give you that snap of the fresh berries with the smooth compote. No leftovers in our house!
NEW Antique Finds!
Sunday I had to go back to an antique mall in Virginia Beach to pick up a creamer that I missed with the tea set I purchased a few weeks ago. I ended up coming home with five new plates for the afternoon tea parties! We are making progress in finding the china that we need!
So exciting, I love the dessert and the plates are gorgeous. I have 12 of the top plate that I found in an antique store in Brooklyn. Will your B&B be pet friendly?? I want to make a reservation if it is.
I love looking for them. It is so much fun! I don’t think we can make the main house pet friendly, so much as we would love to. The house was built in 1791 and has some really important history attached to it. We are planning on builting some cotteges to match the outbuildings we currently have. When we do, we will make them pet friendly. We would love to have you come! Did you figure out the plantation yet?
I totally understand that the main house would not be pet friendly, there is a b&b I go to in Vermont that has the same set up, really cute cottages for people with pets. Still working on figuring out the plantation, getting close I think.
I think that would be best for ours too! We love pets including our plantation dog Hurley. Just have to be mindful of the history we are in charge of and responsiblity that goes with it. We should be revealing it soon. Not much longer!
Oh man!!!!!! I need one of those banana blueberry things!
Tea parties. Crepes. China. Ahhhhh!
Sorry lost it there for a minute. Great post 😀
Thank you! Get a hold of yourself! Or you won’t be able to handle the reveal! If you come see us, remind me and I will make you one of those banana blueberry things! 😉
Some of the plates look like limoges. They are pretty! Your dessert looks delicious!
Very good! They are limoges! Thank you! It was very good! We ate it for dinner ; )
I used to have a set. LOL We gave it to our cousin to keep it passing through the family since we don’t have children. Still have a few pieces left. 🙂
They are such beautiful pieces! I am glad I was able to add them to the collection for the plantation!
The crepe looks very appetizing : )
Thank you! They were very good. We didn’t have any leftovers!
If you could overnight me a crepe or two, that would be great. Thanks in advance. 🙂
Oh, sorry, we ate them all. But if you come to see us, I would be happy to make some for you!
That’s a deal!
That crepe is beautiful.
Thank you! And they were good too! Not one left!
I love anything with blueberries in them. I cannot wait until you open.
You and me too! I love blueberries! We can’t wait to open either! We hope to see you!
Looks yummy! Can’t wait til you can reveal the name of your plantation. And I would LOVE to meet you at the antique mall in Va. Beach one day!
Thank you! We can’t wait to tell! We may not go up to the plantation this weekend, so I am thinking about doing an antique shopping weekend! I would be happy to have you come along!
This is so exciting. I can’t wait to visit when I am in Virginia. The crepe looked soooo good.
Thank you! We can’t wait to meet you and enjoy some of those crepes!
I don’t know which is more beautiful, the crepe or the plates!?! 😉
Well the plates have to be more beautiful right now. The crepes are gone! 😉
Haha!
Don’t those blue berries look lovely.
Thank you! And they tasted just as good! We love blueberries!
Mmmm… I like the sound of ‘tea parties’ and the plates are lovely. So is the crepe!
Thank you! We can’t wait to have them!
I absolutely love those plates! I wish I had a set of each!
Thank you! I know where there are a ton of them! I just bought one piece of each because I wanted each person to have one unlike the others. When we reveal the plantation, I can tell you where to go get them!
Thanks, that would be great! I would love to own a set of the last one that you posted. Are they second hand or new?
All the china is second hand and considered vintage or antique.
Oh Yum! The crepe is lovely!! Don’t think we’ll be making it to the East coast anytime soon, buy my best friend’s daughter lives up in Maryland/DC area and I will be sure to tell my friend and daughter about you as soon as you reveal!
Thank you! We appreciate that!
Ohhhhh yum!! Want some of that crepe!
I know where you can get some, come September!
WOW. If those crepes taste as good as they look people may never checkout. Best menu post by far.
Thank you! My husband really liked them too! Of course we have to charge for permanent stays 😉
Oh my goodness, that crepe looks amazing.
Thank you! They were for about 20 minutes. That is able how long they lasted!
That crepe is beautiful, I can almost taste the cool and warm combination. Hurry up and open!
Thank you! My sister picked the picture because she said she could almost take a bit out of the screen! We are trying to hurry. Attorney is taking his time!
That crepe looks scrumptious!
It looks like you’re having lots of fun getting ready to open–so much attention to detail.
Thank you! That is one thing we specialize in!
We’ll pay you a visit someday :o)

Very good guess, but not correct. I will tell you that you are very very close!
If I lived closer to Virginia I would totally be tagging along on your antique china buying expeditions! A few days ago I found two cups and saucers at the Goodwill to start off my new tea cup collection. You are a fabulous inspiration! Thank you….!
Aw thanks! It is so much fun to find. Good luck in your search! Please share so we can see what you find!
Well, YUMMY!!! I love blueberries…the crepe looks so good!!!!Did you harvest the blueberries on your grounds?
Thank you and sadly no. There are no blueberries on the plantation…. yet 😉
🙂
So pretty – everyone will want to come to your B&B:)
Thank you! We hope to see everyone!
That crepe looks AMAZING! Love the plates, too…they are all different yet work together beautifully.
Thank you! It was our goal to have china that was individually for the tea. So each time you come, you would have a new dish or tea cup to enjoy. The crepes were yummy and gone very quickly!
Thanks for the fine photos! Best wishes!
Thank you! We hope you’ll stop back by for the reveal coming soon!
You are having so much fun! I’m sure it’s a lot of work too but I bet you have a smile on your face while in the midst!
How did you ever guess! Now my secret is out. We hope we can share that smile in the future! Thank you for stopping by!
Breakfast looks delicious!
It was very delicious! Hope we can share some with you some day!

Can’t wait for our NY berry season – the crepe looks amazing!
We love berries in the summer. Ok we love berries anytime. My favorite are blueberries. My husband loves all berries. So I am sure we will be doing a lot of berries for breakfast at the plantation. We have a local berry farm not far from the plantation so you know that they will be fresh! Thank you for stopping by! We hope you will again for the big reveal!
Very excited now to hear the reveal! Loks like you are having huge fun. x
Thank you we are. We can’t wait for the reveal ourselves! It’s not happening fast enough for us.

Thank you! Well, I can’t let you have them, but you can come to the plantation and enjoy them for tea! 🙂
