Hurley Dreams Big

01/08/12 10:08 PM

This post was not planned but I wanted to share this with you.

Our plantation dog, Hurley has always had a love affair with swimming.

We have an in ground pool here in Chesapeake and when it is open; it is near impossible keeping Hurley out.

Β Tonight, he discovered the Olympics. We caught him watching the swimming events.

Now I just hope we can keep him out of the Rappahannock River when we go to the plantation!

  11. How adorable is that!

  12. Haha Believe it or not, Hurley loves to watch television. We catch him at it all the time. I think it is because we left the television on for him when he was young when we were at work so he would have some human sounds around.

  13. Angeline M Says:

Have to wonder what he’s thinking.

  14. I think he is thinking, I can beat that!

  15. Love you, Hurley. My Goldens, Melody and Rhythm send regards. They know you can do it.

  19. Getting dogs to wait for the firing pistol and swim in a straight line might be the hardest part in competitive swimming πŸ˜€

  20. He is pretty smart. I think he could figure it out.

Hurley, you are my kind of friend. If I was there, we would both have fun playing Marco Polo in the pool together. I love watching television as well. Mom has a tv set up in my room and I love to watch my shows. XOXOX Bacon

  30. Bacon,
I am not sure if Marco Polo is my kind of game. I pretty much jump in and swim to the end and play on the stairs with my toy. But we could watch tv together any time! I love the baked bean commericals with Duke!
    Hurley

  31. Go for it, Hurley! That’s hilarious. My boyfriend and I disagree about animals’ interest in TV. He thinks they don’t care. But! I had a cat who used to watch hockey, and try to bat at the puck. And I had another cat who would sit on the arm of the couch and not move a muscle when “The Adventures of Milo and Otis” came on.

  32. Oh I know he does. He lays around until something comes on that catches his interest. Then he sits up and watches. I can’t say he has a favorite, but if there is another dog on the tv he likes to bark at them.

  33. So cute!! I agree Hurley gets a 10! Great photo!

  34. Hurley says Thank you!

  35. I think Hurley deserves a ‘gold medal’ shaped doggy biscuit! πŸ™‚

  36. Well he is a golden after all πŸ˜‰ But I will tell you he doesn’t care too much for dog biscuits. He is a pupperoni dog.

  37. I’ll keep that in mind if we come to visit! πŸ™‚

  38. garybuie01 Says:

It looks as though he’s waiting for someone to serve him a nice gin and Tonic!
    Christine

  39. Well, I don’t think he takes gin but he does like pupperoni treats.

  40. mizqui Says:
