Middle of the Week Vacation

The Inn at Warner Hall
Gloucester, Virginia

Okay, no getting jealous about this one!

Tomorrow night (Tuesday night), Brett and I are going to be staying at the Inn at Warner Hall in Gloucester, Virginia. You may remember it from our previous post, Nothing ventured, nothing gained posting. Brett has a meeting on Wednesday in Saluda, Virginia with VDOT (Virginia Department of Transportation) to discuss our entry into the plantation from State Route 301. After that meeting, he is meeting with our surveyor/engineer to discuss the site plan for zoning. So we thought it would be allot easier for him to get there if we slept closer. (That excuse is good asย any… haha)ย After breakfast, I will be returning to Chesapeake and my current job to work.

ย

But we are hoping to be able to look a little closer at Warner Hall and how they have things set up. So far it is the closest to what we want for Belle Grove. We are also hoping to talk with the owners and innkeepers. We hope to gain some answers to questions and learn as much as we can from their experience. I also hope to get some more photos of Warner Hall. It is just so beautiful! And we will be staying in the Robert E. Lee room! There was no James Madison room, so this is the next best thing!

I am pea green with envy. A dream of get-away mid week. Almost naughty in a way, but it is about Belle Grover so enjoy. Virginia

  7. Thank you! I need a breather every now and then whew….

  8. belocchio Says:

We have put several restaurants together from scratch. Dealing with cityhall and other government agencies is very stressful. Please take mini holidays when you can. Then you’ll be able to hit the road running with you move into your new home. V.

  9. I hear you Virginia! It was a nice break for us last night! But things are looking better for the progress so far.

Just beautiful as always – showed hubby some of the house and he’s like “where is this???” i think a trip is on the cards just to visit these lovely homes.

  15. I know Brett loves going to them too! He is going to head up there before I can today. Yes, you must come see them!

  22. terry1954 Says:

beautiful! enjoy your mini vacation, and let someone else do the work

  23. Thank you! I can’t say I will be letting someone else do the work other than dinner tonight since I have to work today and tomorrow at my current job, but it is nice to finally get to stay there.

  24. terry1954 Says:

well at least you do not have to prepare dinner. i always think a vacation, no matter how big or small is so good for the mind, body, and soul

  25. I’m hoping it will be good for allot of reasons, but mostly to get ideas and shared experiences from the owners. I would rather learn on someone else’s curve then to have to create the wheel myself. Warner Hall has a CIA grad as a chef so I think I might be in the kitchen anyway tonight getting some secrets from him too!

  26. terry1954 Says:

well you can accomplish all of your goals in one visit! enjoy
