Tickets include access to the festival, free sample glass, wines and distilled spirits samples, great live music, and delicious food options. Parking is free. We encourage you to bring lawn chairs, tents, and blankets. Historic Mansion Tours are not included in the ticket price. Historic Mansion Tour Tickets will be available at the festival.

The James Madison Belle Grove Foundation
All proceeds from this event go to benefit the James Madison Belle Grove Foundation. This non-profit organization is committed to assist in the preservation, restoration, improvement, maintenance, and education of the public about Belle Grove Plantation and its amazing American History. Belle Grove Plantation, birthplace of President James Madison, is a historic Virginia Landmark set on a sprawling 694 acres. Walk in the steps of history while enjoying the beauty of the grounds.

Bring your lawn chair and tent or shelter and enjoy an afternoon on the banks of the Rappahannock River. Tents & Shelters must be weighted and secured or will be asked to be removed.

Get ready for toe-tapping, handclapping, high-energy bluegrass! Our Featured  Bluegrass Bands delivers an authentic sound that will have you dancing in your seat and on your feet all afternoon long.

Valerie Smith

Valerie Smith is a musical powerhouse who has been rocking the bluegrass world for almost two decades with her unique sound and style. As a singer and songwriter, Valerie has amassed a loyal following of fans and friends across the United States and Europe, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Her impressive vocals, which NPR radio host Dave Higgs describes as “sassy, sultry, siren-like, sweet, smooth, soothing, and smoldering,” have earned her multiple Grammy, IBMA, and Dove Award nominations.

 

Jay Armsworthy and Eastern Tradition

Jay Armsworthy & Eastern Tradition, from California, MD is a “hard driving” Bluegrass band that perform traditional ballads, energized instrumentals, and old-time gospel. Jay Armsworthy, guitar, vocals, and mandolin as well. All appreciates his hot licks and smooth voice. Jay has four recordings and has received complements on his first, titled, “Just Lookin’ For Fun” and an all-gospel project titled, “I Couldn’t Make It Without Him” on Blue Circle Records. His radio show, “Bluegrass on the Bay” is currently heard on five stations: WWSM in Pennsylvania; BluegrassJamboree.com; SBBRadio.net and BellBuckleRadio.com in Tennessee; and BluegrassCountry.org/88.5 HD Channel 2. Performing, promoting, or DJ’ing, Jay has a passion for Bluegrass. It shows in his endeavors. Scott Walker-banjo is from Friendswood, Texas. Currently live in Front Royal, Virginia. Joining them on Bass is Bonnie Eyler and brother Dale Eyler on fiddle. Bluegrass and the general audience enthusiastically receive them at countless events throughout the East Coast .
