Planting the Seeds for the Future

Belle Grove Plantation’s Homeschool Series is offering an extended gardening class for children ages 5 to 15. Using our Colonial Garden located behind our 1720 Kitchen, we will be teaching them how to:

• Plan a garden – April 10th from 1pm to 2pm
• Prepare a garden – April 24th from 1pm to 2pm
• Plant a garden – May 8th from 1pm to 3pm
• Maintaining a garden – May 22nd from 1pm to 2pm

Colonial Preservation and Cooking Class
Wednesday, August 28th from 1pm to 3pm

Learn how people preserved their produce during the Colonial Period. Once preserved, learn how they prepared their meals to make the most of our produce. Outdoor cooking over an open flame by our 1720 Kitchen.

No Long Term Commit

Our Educational Director, Andrea Whelan, and our In-House Gardener, Valarie Coyle will assist the students in all aspects of gardening. The weekly maintenance of the garden will be taken care of by our staff. We do invite students to come and visit the garden as it grows to see what their efforts have produced.
