Imagine yourself nestled amidst the stunning backdrop of Belle Grove Plantation, a historic landmark rich in stories and Southern charm. Our Afternoon Tea is more than just a meal; it’s an opportunity to savor exquisite flavors, connect with loved ones, and create lasting memories.
What to Expect:
Our Afternoon Tea experience features a meticulously curated selection of:
- Finely Sliced Sandwiches: Delicate crustless sandwiches filled with savory delights.
- Freshly Baked Scones: Warm, buttery scones served with clotted cream and a selection of jams.
- Delectable Homemade Pastries & Sweets: A tempting array of miniature cakes, pastries, and other sweet treats, all expertly crafted.
- A Variety of Teas: Choose from a wide selection of Belle Grove Plantation Exclusive Tea Blends to perfectly complement your meal.

5 foot Round
Cafe Table
Tea Room
The Tea Room is off our Formal Dining Room. This room has one window with a view of the river. We can seat a total of four people at a cafe table or a group of up to 8 at a 5 foot round table. We can get a total of 16 with two 5 foot round tables. This room is very special. Under the floor, buried in the crawl space is the foundation of the house that President James Madison was born in. Having a one-hour tea in this room and you will be enjoying your tea over the birthplace of President Madison. You can add this to a shower, birthday party or meeting for an additional $150.00 for 3 hours.
Formal Dining Room
The Formal Dining Room is our main table. This mahogany 1911 table can seat up to 14 people. A great room for small groups or a large family. Views of both the plantation and river from windows on both sides of the room. This room can be reserved for our standard one-hour tea or add additional hours to conduct organizational meets. One-hour Tea is $35 (plus tax and gratuity) Room can be rented for meeting, showers or birthday parties for $150 for a total of 3 hours.
Parlor
The Parlor offers a marble top coffee table between two settees (love seats). A beautiful Victorian style room to sip tea and enjoy your one-hour tea with friends and family. The Parlor can seat up to 4 people.
Portico
Located outside on the riverside of the mansion, the Portico allows up to 3 people for a one-hour tea. Views of the grounds and river adds to this special time with friends and family. The Portico is closed between October and March due to the weather. If it rains on your reservation date, we will move you inside. The cost for tea in this location is $45.00 per person.
To ensure you don’t miss this special occasion, we encourage you to make your reservations early. Spaces are limited and tend to fill up quickly.

Enchanted Tea for Young Girls and Boys
Do you have a child between the ages of 5 years and 12 years that is celebrating a birthday or just a special gathering of friends? Belle Grove Plantation offers a special children’s tea called our Enchanted Tea. Bring your special doll and join us for a private tea party. Enjoy scones, tea sandwiches of ham and cheese, peanut butter and jam, and pimento cheese and petite desserts that will be the first to go! Apple juice to replace hot tea. Afterwards, enjoy a children’s craft.
Tea is $45 (not including tax or gratuity) which includes tea and craft. Groups of 6 or more, 18% gratuity is automatically added to the reservation.

Items you need to know:
- Afternoon Tea is $35.00 per person (not including tax and gratuity) Portico Tea is $45 per person (not including tax and gratuity. This is for all ages.
- Children need to be at least 5 years old to attend. The price is the same for them at an adult tea.
- Groups of 6 or more, automatic gratuity of 18% is add to your reservation.
- Afternoon Tea offered at 11am or 1pm and is only one-hour. You can add an additional hour for $50 at our 1pm teas only.
- Make it a special tea with some of our Extras! Roses, Chocolate Dipped Strawberries, Birthday Cupcake, Historic Mansion Tour, or a dozen fresh baked scones to take home!
- Historic Mansion Tours can be added the same day as the reservation. Tea is first hour and tour is second hour.
- Please do not arrive any earlier than 15 minutes before your reservation. If you find yourself here early, please consider visiting Port Royal’s Antique Stores instead of sitting in your car.
- Dietary Restrictions: We are sorry, but we don’t accommodate dairy-free, sugar-free or gluten-free restrictions. We are able to do vegetarian with advance request.

Special Note – We use our bed and breakfast reservation service to book both our bed and breakfast and our tea reservations. Recent changes to our service appearance can make our tea reservations a little confusing. Our service has recently added the “Check In – Check Out” dates on our reservations. We have asked them to remove it, but they aren’t able to. We are currently working on finding another reservation service that can help us. In the meantime, please follow our instructions below:

Once on our reservation site, select the number of guests at the top left side. Under Guest, you will see the dates.
With this issue we ask that you select the date you would like to come for the “Check In” date. For the “Check Out ” date, just put the next day. We will know that you are leaving the same day you come, not the next day. Then you just select the room you would like to have your tea and complete your booking.

To complement these delectable treats and beat the summer heat, we are pleased to offer a chilled pitcher of iced tea instead of our traditional hot pot. While hot tea remains an option, we highly recommend savoring one of our signature iced creations:

- The invigorating Diamond of the Season Orange Chi, bursting with citrus and spice notes.
